Agency Profile
The Meals On Wheels of Muncie, Inc. is a local community program designed to deliver meals to homebound persons who are unable to manage their own meal preparation. The service allows elderly or handicapped residents to live independently in their own homes. Although the majority of the recipients are over 60 years of age, there is no age minimum. All clients are required to pay a nominal fee for their meal, must be home at time of delivery and live within the Muncie city limits.
The meals are planned and prepared by the Dietetics staff at Ball Memorial Hospital. The meals are not only designed to meet nutrition needs but also designed for taste and variety. The hot meal package consists of a serving of meat, hot vegetable and potato or starch. Your cold sack will include a drink, salad, fruit or dessert, and bread.
The cold supper package consists of a sandwich or cold plate, side dish, fruit, or dessert and drink. Both meals if ordered are delivered between the hours of 11:00 and 12:00 noon Monday through Friday.
